Original technology of Mitsubishi Rayon ── Continuous Casting
Continuous Casting, which is developed by Mitsubishi Rayon Company, produced acrylic sheets with the unique advanced technology.
The principle of continuous cast process is similar to cell cast process. Other than the cell cast process using glass cell for polymerization, continuous cast process can pour the syrup into double steel belt machine unceasingly. That is why continuous cast sheet has excellent thickness tolerance, less of dust and etc.
From the pre-polymerization to the end of the whole continuous cast process, the MMA Monomer is poured into a closed pipe, and a Cell filter is set up to percolate syrup before it poured into pipe. This non-open process ensures the dust has no way to blend with the sheets.
Thickness Tolerance
In process of continuous cast, the double steel belt machine can highly control the thickness tolerance of sheets. For instance, the tolerance of 10mm sheets can be controlled in ±0.3mm. It is suitable to be used in various applications which request in stable thickness tolerance.
Large size
In theory, continuous cast process is available to produce sheets’ size as wide in 2763mm and unlimited length. Because of the transportation limited, Nantong centre can produce sheets in a maximum size as 2763x6000mm.
