聚苯硫醚（全称聚次苯基硫醚，英文名Polyphenylene Sulfide，以下简称PPS）是一种具有优良性能的特种工程塑料，目前已有从特种工程塑料的*大类发展成为继聚碳酸酯、聚酯、聚甲醛、尼龙、聚苯醚之后第六种通用工程塑料的态势。PPS是国外对我国封锁的高技术产品之一，在国外也仅有美国、日本和德国能实现工业化生产。PPS是一种具有芳香环，4，4’位带有硫原子的高分子化合物。密度1．34，熔点280～290℃，热分解温度在430。C左右。PPSzui早是在1988年由Grenvesse用苯与硫在AICl。催化下利用Friedel—Crafts反应合成的叫。19世纪末20世纪初一些化学工作者报道了与之类似的合成法，如Deuss将苯硫’酚与A1C1。作用得到一种PPS；Hill利用在浓H。SO。存在下苯硫酚的加聚反应丽制成了一种奶油色不溶性粉状.应用：在电器/ 电子工业中,用于制备电气接插件和插座,电机、电容器和许多精密仪器的配件、保险基座等,电视机、电熨斗、照相机、复印机、电脑、微波炉等电器的配件等。在机械工业中,PPS 特别适应于在高热、强腐蚀环境下油井深处部件制备,在化工行业常作泵、阀门、压缩机零件,齿轮、计量仪表、密封垫等。PPS 在汽车工业中的应用增长速度zui快。因PPS 耐高温并不受腐蚀等特点,成为汽车理想的用品。常用于制备动力制动装置和动力导向系统的旋转式叶片、温度传感器、气化器、进气管、汽油泵等。另外PPS 在*方面用于制作导弹外壳的燃烧层及导弹垂直尾翼部件。PPS 还可以制备合金、结构泡沫及航空工业的*复合材料...
性能：
耐热。可在200～240℃下连续使用，在低于400℃的空气或氮气中较稳定，基本无重量损失，且机械性能在高温下不降低，是目前使用温度zui高的热塑性工程塑料之一。②耐腐蚀。其耐化学腐蚀性与号称塑料*的聚四氟乙烯（PTFE）相近，能抵抗酸、碱、烃、酮、醇、酯、氯烃等化学品的侵蚀，在200℃下不溶于任何化学溶剂。在250℃以上仅溶于联苯、联苯醚及其卤代物。⑧优良的介电性能。介电常数为3．9～5．1，介电强度13～17 kV／mm，在高温、高湿、变频等环境中具有很高的体积电阻率、表面电阻率，能保持良好的绝缘性。④阻燃性好。氧指数为46～53，在火焰上能燃烧，但不会滴落，且离火自熄，发烟率低于卤化聚合物。不需添加阻燃剂就可达到UL一94V一0标准。⑤尺寸稳定。
