Extrusion molding
Extrusion molding of ACRYPET is applied to a generic type of extruder. A vent type extruder usually does not require a pre-drying process but a non-vent type extruder requires an adequate predrying process. The drying conditions should be in compliance with that of the injection molding. Because the melt viscosity of methacrylic resin is relatively high, a high-pressure type of extruder is required. The condition varies depending on a type of machine, a shape of screw, or a shape of product. The data shown below is the example of conditions.
